The following is brief preview of this week’s CFL games along with the opening point spread and ‘over/under’ football odds as provided by BTB.
Thursday, July 14
Calgary Stampeders (-3) at Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Calgary is 3-1 in the last four meetings straight-up, but Winnipeg has gotten the better of it against the spread with a 3-0-1 record. Last season the Stampeders won both matchups starting with a 23-20 victory in late July as a 6.5-point home favorite in a game that stayed ‘under’ the 55-point total. Later in the season, they followed that up with a 35-32 squeaker as a three-point road favorite. The total went ‘over’ the 53.5-point line this time around.
Calgary is 0-4-1 ATS in its last five trips to Winnipeg and last year’s victory at Canad Inns Stadium was just its first outright win there in those five games. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of the last six meetings overall. Blue Bomber quarterback Buck Pierce turned in a much better performance last week against Toronto with a 61.7 percent completion rate after completing just 46.1 percent of his passes in Week 1.
Friday, July 15
Toronto Argonauts at Montreal Alouettes (-10)
These two East Division rivals split their four-game regular season series last year both SU and ATS with each winning once on the road and once at home. The last time they played one another was in the CFL Division Finals on Nov.7. The Alouettes routed the Argonauts 48-17 as a 10.5 home favorite. The total went ‘over’ the 51-point line in that game and was 2-2 in the other four.
Toronto is 1-4 ATS in its last five meetings in Montreal and just 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of the last nine games. Alouette quarterback Anthony Calvillo completed 29-of-43 attempts for 419 yards and threw five touchdowns last week against Saskatchewan to tie Damon Allen as the all-time CFL leader in touchdown passes with 394.
Saturday, July 16
Saskatchewan Roughriders at Hamilton Tiger-Cats (-2.5)
Saskatchewan won both games against Hamilton last season. It covered as an eight-point home favorite in Week 5 with a 37-24 victory and then went on the road as a 1.5-point underdog to squeeze out 32-25 victory in Week 13. The total went ‘over’ the 55-point line the first time they met and ‘over’ the 53.5-point line in Game 2.
The Roughriders have gotten the best of the Tiger-Cats the past few seasons with nine wins in 10 games SU and an 8-2 record ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in nine of the last 12 meetings in Hamilton. Both teams come into this game with a long list of players on the injured list including WR Rob Bagg for Saskatchewan and WR Aaron Kelly for the Tiger-Cats.
British Columbia Lions at Edmonton Eskimos (-2.5)
These two played three times in 2010, with BC splitting the two games in Edmonton. First, the Lions posted a 25-10 victory as a four-point road underdog on opening day and then dropped a 28-25 decision in Week 5 as a two-point road dog. The Eskimos won the season series with a 31-28 overtime victory as a six-point road underdog in mid-October.
BC is 4-1 ATS in its last five games at Commonwealth Stadium. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of the last six meetings in Edmonton and in six of the last seven games overall. The Lions’ defensive secondary took a hit when Stanley Franks went down with a season-ending knee injury in the loss to Calgary. Edmonton slotback Fred Stamps is off to a fast start with 212 rushing yards on just 10 carries.

/Online Casino Gambling /
Gambling is rapidly becoming something of a national pastime, a leisure pursuit that more and more people take up every year. Once relegated to Atlantic City, Las Vegas and the occasional Caribbean cruise, casino gambling is now found in most of the United States and scores of countries across the world. Casino gambling can even be found on the Internet, opening up gaming opportunities for a vast array of people for whom such activities have always been impractical.
Nevada has had legalized gambling for over half of a century, but it has only been the last decade or so that has seen the city grow by unprecedented leaps and bounds. Truly the entertainment capital of the world, Vegas is one of the top tourist destinations on the globe. To keep up with this growth, thousands of people move to the Nevada desert each year, making Las Vegas the fastest growing city in the United States.
At the height of the 1990s Vegas boom, family-oriented resorts were popping up left and right on the Las Vegas Strip, complete with theme parks and arcades and lots of distractions for the younger set. Developers quickly found out the hard way that Vegas will always be a playground for adults and eventually tailored their message to a grown-up demographic. The opening of the luxury Wynn casino in May 2005 finally closed the door on the family-era of Vegas history, and returned the focus to casino gambling.
Equal Opportunity Gaming
Not everyone, however, can afford to jet to the desert for a luxurious weekend of baccarat and spa treatments. Indian and riverboat casinos, as well as local card clubs, have made some inroads into serving the booming regional market for casino gambling. Even these spots, though, are not accessible to everyone and have their own drawbacks as well.
For those responsible adults who like to entertain themselves with games of chance, online casino gambling is a great solution. It is available to anyone with an internet connection and can be done anytime and anywhere. Online casino gambling is the great equalizer in the modern gaming world today.
Casino gambling from the privacy of one’s home is a great way for novices to hone their skills at the various table games without getting pressure from other players. Anyone who has sat down at a blackjack table in Las Vegas knows the feeling of other players’ criticizing his every move as he “messes up” the deck for them. Playing at home, you can try many different strategies and make mistakes without enduring harsh glares from total strangers.
Cash in Those Tickets
Playing casino games online is also something to consider if you are not a big fan of flying or of travel in general. In addition to being infinitely more convenient, gambling online also saves money on airfare, hotel and restaurant costs. If you prefer betting the pass line in craps to waiting in the buffet line at an expensive resort, online gaming may be something to explore.
Players who have communication or mobility issues may also find the prospect of gambling online attractive, as traveling to a crowded casino can be made much more difficult by certain disabilities. Since these sites allow one to play the same games as in a Las Vegas casino–and to win real money–everyone gets to experience the thrills and setbacks that make up the true casino gambling experience. If you are considering giving online casino gambling a try, take some time and find out all you need to know about this increasingly popular activity.
